i've been learning a lot about the upper limits of technology. it goes to show you that there's something to learn everyday. Just got back from hanging out in LA with some of the industry's finest and I feel vindicated about many of my choices in studio gear.

the AES conference in SF was a total blast! listened to my digi/pmc speakers in a large room and was totally blown away. boy do they sound great. I've taken the subwoofer that I had in a 2.1 crossover configuration out of my system (sub will just be for surround LFE)... as it was really screwing with my lower-end. live & learn!

Colabs is available as a high-quality download from musiczeit... However, the physical discs will soon be available on CD Baby! The physical discs just arrived from www.nationwidedisc.com ... The amazing thing is the beautiful 4-panel packaging is totally made of paper (no plastic, besides the CD)! The idea behind colabs is simple... each song is a colaboration between David Miles Huber (www.51bpm.com) and a different artist from north america, the uk and europe. The songs are innovative and diverse in style and include original compositions, as well as re-works of rock and traditional jazz standards. Each of the artist are true innovators in the fields of electronic, traditional americana and jazz music and it is an honor to work with each of them. One thing's for absolute for certain... the resulting project is a truly unique and innovative musical experience that'll grab your attention from the very first downbeat. "Roads" is available as a FREE DOWNLOAD from 51bpm.com Roads was written/produced/ performed by David Miles Huber at Media Designers in Bloomington, Indiana, just after having returned from working in NYC in July of 1979. It's a unique ambient project in that the basic goal was to play instruments in ways that they weren't necessarily intended to be played. This wasn't always possible (i.e. piano, recorder, ect.)... but it's a very cool project that I'm proud of and am finally throwin' it out to the public... for free!

Spring Planting - Just got back from the family organic farm up in Nelson, BC, Canada. Had a great time weeding lots of plantbeds (I never thought I'd ever say that) and learned more about dirt than I ever thought I could. Our buddy Thomas (we're his adopted North American parents) is heading back to Austria at the end of the month and we met a new buddy from Toronto... Besides the usual familty $%@, it was a wonderful time!

Allen Hart / DMH - track 1 "Ol' Time Banjo - 51bpm Colabs Mix" - Allan Hart is a renaissance banjo man, playing classical banjo, minstrel-era stroke style, ragtime... and even more arcane historical styles. Musetta / DMH - track 4 "Ophelia's Song - 51bpm Colabs Mix" - www.musetta.co.uk - Musetta (Matteo Curcio and Marinella Mastrosimone - milan, italy) have their roots in electronic music, jazz and east-indian classical music. The tasty and ever-so-sultry music of this amazing duo is best served in the still of the night, preferably while soaking in a hot bath by candlelight with your favorite tipple at hand. Henta / DMH - track 5 "Oceanis" - www.henta.co.uk - Originally from the UK, Henta is now a Seattle-based inspirational singer/songwriter and recording artist. She writes heartfelt compositions with both spiritual and secular lyrical content and her lush and unique music encompasses engaging and timeless melody with pop and electronic sensibilities and ethereal vocals. Details of her latest album 'Daisy Dancing' can be found at www.henta.co.uk. Marcell Marias / DMH - track 6 "Revolution - 51bpm Colabs Mix" - www.marcellmarias.com - Marcell Marias is a Seattle-based producer and performer with several CD releases and film/video soundtrack credits.
